‘He’s So Brutal to Watch’- Discerning Prediction on Dominic Thiem After Back-To-Back Defeats in a Disappointing Comeback

Must read

Former world no.3 Dominic Thiem is making many appearances on the court recently. However, be it grass or clay, the Austrian tennis icon has been having a rough patch recently. With his elimination in the first round of the Australian Open itself, fans were shocked, to say the least. However, Dominic has made a striking comeback in 2022 after he healed from a wrist injury.

Therefore, the probability of Thiem making a powerful comeback was still a possibility for fans that tennis commentator Geoff Chizever dismissed on Wednesday.

The seasoned commentator sat in an interview with Tennis World, where he dismissed all claims of Dominic making a comeback. According to him, the player will never make it back into the top 10 again in his career. While fans have not taken this comment kindly on social media sites like Instagram, Thiem himself has not yet made a statement in reply to Chizever.

Dominic Thiem is playing a “crazy” sport, says Geoff Chizever

In the interview that has now become the talk of the town for netizens, Geoff Chizever put across some very harsh views of the 29-year-old Austrian tennis icon. He said, “He’s so brutal to watch. I’m sorry to be so negative towards Thiem, I think his moment of difficulty says a lot about how brutal tennis is.”

While Thiem’s fans can disagree with Chizever all they want but to an extent, it is true that nobody likes to see their idol lose. Adding to the comment, Chizever continued, “I think Thiem will never get back in the top 10 of the ATP rankings.”

He further said that he followed Thiem’s game closely during the Davis Cup and figured out why the player is on a constant losing trail. Chizever brought on the blame for Dominic’s losses on the difficulties of the sport.

He said, “It is just crazy. They always say it of the hardest workers in the sport: the fitness is there, the grit is there, but if you’re away for a while, you lose that kick in the wrist. Then all of a sudden, everyone below you gets better. The margins are so thin.”

While it is true that Thiem has made comebacks in the past that have shocked even his very loyal fans, it remains to be seen if he will be able to prove Chizever wrong. The brutal honesty from Chizever is not very appreciated by fans as of now, and only Thiem’s career can decide whether or not this analysis of his future will prove to be a testament.
